We are especially in need of bilingual Pet Adoption Counselors..

You will receive fundamental hands-on dog training sessions from a Certified Dog Trainer. In order to increase dogs' chances of finding a forever family through adoption, the Dog Ambassadors come to the shelter at least twice a week.

Your role will be to give the photographer a hand with the animals while they take photos. With this opportunity you will: Need to be comfortable with handling animals. Assist in setup of photo backdrops and props. Assist the photographer with restraining or leashing the animals during photography.

Kitty Committee:
Volunteers provide the daily cleaning, feeding and socializing of the 3-5 cats or kittens housed at River Oaks PETCO. All supplies are provided by us and are located at the store. It is easy, fun and it helps us to adopt more cats and kittens into loving, forever homes. Minimum age requirements is 18 years old.

Animal Foster Team:
Bring a homeless animal into your home that needs special attention in preparation for our adoption program. Foster homes are responsible for the foster animals' transportation, food and care while the foster animal stays with them. HCPHES VPH provides the spay/neuter surgery and medical care.

Events and Mobile Adoptions Team:
Special events offer a fun way to help. Volunteers may help with pet vaccination clinics, health fairs, spay/neuter events, mobile adoptions and holiday events.
